6. Prepare any one of the two projects given below:
a) Fire incidents are increasing day by day in the world. As we know fire is the rapid oxidation of a combustible material in the exothermic process of combustion, releasing heat, light and various reactive products and it also has potential to result in conflagration (large fire which can damage human and animal life and any property) which can lead to permanent physical damage. Forest fire is one of the types of fire which also divested vegetation as well as the wildlife. Recently there is a fire in the forest of California in the year end of 2024. California has dry, windy and often hot weather conditions from `spring through autumn that can produce moderate to severe wildlife.
Prepare a project report to give answer the following question.
1. How would you define forest fire?
2. What are the main causes of forest fires in California?
3. How does forest fire impact forest environment?
4. What mitigation solutions would you like to suggest for avoiding such forest fire in near future?
For this project, you can take help of your family members, teacher from your study centre, newspaper and internet.
b) Go out to a nearby field and collect some leguminous plants. Observe their roots carefully. Write your observation and draw the diagram of these roots. Prepare a report regarding the cause of the development of nodules as well as its significance. Draw a simplified flow chart of biochemical steps involved in this process.
