- Services are typically more customized and can vary based on the provider, customer preferences, and specific circumstances. A haircut, for example, may differ from one person to another.
4. Perishability:
- Goods are non-perishable, meaning they can be stored for long periods before being consumed.
- Services are perishable, meaning they cannot be stored or saved. For example, a missed hotel booking or an unused airline seat represents lost revenue because the service cannot be "re-sold."
5. Ownership:
- With goods, ownership is transferred from the seller to the buyer at the point of sale.
- Services do not involve ownership transfer; instead, customers pay for the right to access or use the service.
